Wedding Gift Commission

This was such a special project to be a part of. Linda wrote this poem as a gift for her daughters wedding and contacted me about transforming it into a piece of art to hang on the wall. 

Handmade wedding gift. A poetry calligraphy commission in modern style script.

The writing style was carefully chosen to echo the word in the poem, with lots of movement to symbolise the flowing water. One thing I love about calligraphy commissions is that I’m creating something more than just words, I’m creating fine art. The writing style, layout, spacing, colour, paper, size and flourishes all contribute to the piece, resulting in a piece that can look illustrative or abstract.

This piece was A2 in size and was shipped off to America in time for the special day.
