Where it all began - Corporate Calligraphy for Guinness

I became fascinated (and a little obsessed) with calligraphy during my final year of college. Starting off with brush markers before moving onto the pointed pen. I’d only been practising pointed pen calligraphy for a couple of months before I was contacted by a representative from advertising, marketing, and public relations agency, Ogilvy, about a calligraphy job for international drinks company Guinness. Nervous but excited I took the job!

The first job was inscribing Christmas cards and addressing envelopes in a modern calligraphy style for public figures. It was a very fast paced job, working on-site to a tight deadline. It was one of the longest, most rewarding jobs I’d worked on and I knew this was something I needed to pursue as a career.

To my delight I was invited to work on numerous other jobs for Guinness and Diageo before moving to Vietnam in 2019. These jobs involved hand lettered menus, thank you notes, place cards and written instructions for products.

Many of the projects were confidential but here’s a sample of some of the projects I worked on.
